Workplace financial wellbeing support

Wisdom Wellbeing helps organisations support employees through financial challenges that can affect everyday life.

Support is designed for New Zealand workplaces and can complement your organisation’s broader employee wellbeing strategy or Employee Assistance Programme.

Wisdom Wellbeing EAP

Confidential one-to-one financial coaching

Employees can speak privately with a financial wellbeing coach about the money matters affecting them.

Each 30-minute session is practical and goal-focused, giving the employee space to understand their situation, explore options and create manageable next steps. Coaching can be delivered by phone or video call and may include a personal action plan, relevant resources and pathways to further support.

Common topics may include:

  • Budgeting, saving and managing everyday expenses
  • Credit, debt and financial hardship
  • Insurance and home buying
  • KiwiSaver and retirement basics
  • Basic investment concepts
  • Major life or financial changes

Financial coaching helps employees understand and organise their options. It does not provide personalised investment, tax, legal or regulated financial advice.

Financial wellbeing workshops and webinars

Interactive workshops and webinars make financial education easier to understand and apply.

Sessions use clear language, practical examples and useful tools to help employees build confidence without overwhelming them with financial jargon.

Delivery can be tailored to your workforce, business priorities and preferred format, including virtual or in-person sessions where available.

New Zealand’s Sorted at Work programme follows a similar practical approach to workplace financial education, with workshops covering money mindset, spending, KiwiSaver, retirement, debt, first-home preparation and introductory investing

Why financial wellbeing matters at work

Financial pressure does not necessarily stay outside the workplace. Money worries can contribute to stress, distraction and reduced confidence, making it more difficult for employees to focus on work and personal goals.

Providing trusted financial wellbeing support shows employees that practical help is available. It can support early help-seeking, strengthen financial capability and connect employees with appropriate services before their circumstances become more difficult.

New Zealand’s WorkWell recommends practical initiatives such as financial literacy workshops, confidential financial counselling, trusted tools and education covering budgeting, debt management, savings and basic investment principles.

Practical education with clear boundaries

Wisdom Wellbeing’s financial wellbeing service is educational and coaching-based.

It does not replace:

  • Personalised financial advice
  • Investment advice
  • Tax advice
  • Legal advice
  • Financial counselling
  • Advice from a licensed financial advice provider

Where an employee requires regulated advice, debt assistance or specialist support, the financial wellbeing coach can encourage the employee to contact an appropriately qualified provider.

This keeps the service practical, responsible and appropriate for New Zealand employees.
